Happy 2024
A S&W 4-digit Number 3 restoration.
I like the way this barrel came out. Retained deep, crisp font and quality of metal was preserved.
A 3rd Gen Colt SAA that I beveled the cylinder front.
I get asked often to widen the flutes on a 3rd gen but the original cylinder has king flutes and after doing such it looks like an Italian/Clone cylinder.
So when I can I recommend the customer opt-out of doing the wide flutes.
The rear sighing groove and “V” of this 1st Generation Colt SAA was fitted with an amateur windage adjustable, crude, sliding piece of brass. Here’s a ‘getting there’ of my first weld and filing. Most times two passes with the wire are needed to build up enough.
Here’s a much older Colt I brought back to life with some metal work, bluing and CCH.
This is a USFA FSS with a custom set of Alasks DALL SHEEP HORN grips. The material is wonderful to work with and looks magnificent.
